collecting old chessbooks This weekend i went to look in several second hand book shops to hunt for collector items chess books.
Are there more with this hobby? This was the result of my hunting:

!) A book written by Hans Kmoch about Max Euwe....about his himself and his games.until 1937...with the zenith his victory over Aljechin and thus becomming worldchampion. The book is from 1937 in Dutch. Anyhow very interesting for myself cause Max Euwe lived nearby where i lived...i even played chess with him as a kid .

2) Fisher v Spassky. The chessmatch of the century. By Svetolozar Gliroric. Nice book about the match, analyses of the games but also about all the turbulent events prior and during the match. I think first edition. Fontana books 1972

Same hobby with me Hi, you seems to have same taste with me.

I obtained some books through internet such as;-

Simple Chess by Michael Stean; in short a gem.
very hard to find.

Modern Chess Opening Theory by Suetin

Study with Tal(not Attack with Tal) by Alexander Koblenc and Mikhail Tal

These 3 books are my treasure. I spent a couple of month to find these books through internet and finally got them. Now chewing a bit by bit of the contents. No rush, just enjoing reading from time to time. It gives me a feeling that I have those chess master on my back. Little confidence booster, yes.

Keep up the good hunting

me2 Complete Book of Chess Openings by Fred Reinfeld 1956 paid $1.75 .. I've had this one a long time ..wine stains and all.
The Chess Legacy of Jose Raoul Capablanca: subtitled Last Lectures. 1966 paid $1.25 .. a great book when I was beginning to learn. Still great.
My Chess Career by J.R. Capablanca 1966 paid $2.25 .. a mini-biography with instructive games. A dog-eared copy ..read and reread many times.
These books (among others) are like old friends, a comfort in times of (chess) need.

Sicilian I have Sicilian: Theory of the Smith-Morra Gambit in Games, 1968 thru 1973. Published by Chess Digest Magazine, circa 1974.

It's a hoot. Not a single illustration.
