49 ( +1 | -1 ) Fischer booksI am sick of all these books coming out about Fischer containing little if anything new about the guy. I picked up Bobby Fischer: Chess Genius to Chess Legend in a store, thumbed through it and put it down in disgust. Gufeld or one of the editors even counted how many losses in KID compared to those in Sicilian, etc. I'm thinking of writing a book called The Bobby Fischer I Didn't Know, describing tournaments I played in but he didn't. The name itself will sell to a few thousand suckers.
40 ( +1 | -1 ) Here's what I'm talking about...Now, Buddie, consider this: Edmar Mednis writes a book called "How to beat Bobby Fischer." His record against Fischer is Five losses, one draw, one win when Fischer was 19. (Wade-O'connel's Bobby Fischer's Chess Games). If he knew how to beat Bobby Fischer, why didn't he do it? I would more likely study Fischer's wins to figure out how he could beat everybody!
