I see two Michael Adams from England. 14 and 25. Anywho, congrats to Shirov for getting back to well over 2700. Also Ivanchuk SHOT up.

Highest name I don't recognize is number 10, Dmitry Jakovenko. Anyone able to go further down the list?

Lowest name I know is 94, Daniel Stellwagen.

One of the finest young players in the world is David Navara, who is rated at 2700+.

WHERE IS HE ON THE LIST !!!!!

I see there are 5 USA players on the list. It is easy to find anyone if you just hit CONTROL -F on your browser and type in what word you want to find.
ganstaman 12 ( +1 | -1 )
raskerino Thanks, now I don't feel as alone. I also do not know #21, though I do know everyone from 1-20 (except #10 as I already pointed out).

David Navara 55 ?

NONSENSE !! David Navara was 2720 on the April 2007 list. Are you seriously trying to tell me that this improving player has fallen to 2656 in three months ? There's something seriously wrong with the list..........
drdesoto 41 ( +1 | -1 )
Navara unfortunately everything is correct.
-> www.fide.com
He lost a whole bunch of points after the German 1. chessleague has been exploited, where he scored just 4.5/13 on an average rating of 2726.

Best,

drdesoto

Thanks drdesoto, I hadn't realised that he had performed so badly in German 1 chessleague. The results from that League don't seem to make it onto the pages of Chessbase which I usually read to keep abreast of the news. They tend to specialise in the major Tournaments where generally his results have been OK.

2656 is right back into the pack and it will take him a lot of effort and time to climb back to 2720. Chess is a cruel mistress.......

Yeah, why is Michael Adams listed twice?
