Immigration Outrage

I'm glad that even Markos is outraged by this story of American citizens being detained and even deported. Here's the key quote:

"The burden of proof is on the individual to show they're legally entitled to be in the United States," said ICE spokeswoman Kice.

Would you expect Kos to not be outraged about this? It's a major infringement on civil liberties, which is exactly what we expect progressives to get upset about.

Also, I think he's pretty lenient with respect to immigration -- so he wouldn't view this as a necessary sacrifice to deal with the "Mexican invasion".

That the blogs that Markos reads picked this up. I encountered the story originally from libertarian blogs.

I don't expect him to read much libertarian stuff, but at least he should read one major libertarian publication -- just to keep up on things.

Because I bet if Markos had his way, most non-leftists would be detained and tortured to death.

I don't think Markos is that extreme. From all I've read about him and by him, he seems like a nice guy. Detaining and torturing non-leftists is not an idea I've ran across among most leftists, except some trolls that inhabit the darker corners of the blogosphere.

They only want to eliminate those who would keep their guns (though Kos isn't particularly anti-gun).

Markos's major divergence is that he's mostly anti-corporation and see regulation of corporations as correct, even though the larger corporations have such an advantage in economies of scale with respect to regulatory compliance, I don't see how more regulations isn't just handing them market power on a silver platter.
