27 ( +1 | -1 ) victordI've a copy of ChessMaster8000 - I haven't seen 9000 yet. It's quite a versatile program and the tutorials and learning exercises are quite useful. Tim (gooftrooper) has spent quite a lot of time playing some of the "personalities" on it.
For analysis and games database I tend to prefer Fritz 7 myself.
17 ( +1 | -1 ) ...---...It's gong to be a while before I figure out what I've got here. The graffics are great. I haven't figured out how to play a game yet. Good tutorial section...all kinds of stuff.
40 ( +1 | -1 ) I have only CM5500But I recommend using the 'Rate My Play' function in the teaching features, not because of it's true purpose, but because the example games are truly great and they are well analyzed!! Just take your time thinking for each move and don't be dissappointed if you 'guessed' wrong. Also The Auto-Annotation is great help in analyzing your previously played games.
Yesterday I recived an e-mail from ICC, announcing the next 4 games match between U.S. Champion, Larry Christiansen (LarryC in ICC) and Chessmaster 9000. Let me check my mail and I'll give you the schedule in order that you can follow this games in real time.
