90 ( +1 | -1 ) I have used the notes facility...... Particularly in my early days on this site. Mostly, though I use bits of paper, old envelopes, the back of my score sheets... anything, really! I have my trusty Russian magnetic set by me (it does interesting things to the screen colours if it is too close to the monitor), and a pen and plenty of paper... I found the notes facility a useful aide memoire for certain complicated positions, and if I had several games going. It might be equally useful for slower time controls (I have some trouble staying engaged with the game in the longer controls, and this has occasionally cost me). I probably ought to use the facility a deal more than I do. I rather think that if they were saved move by move, I'd use it more, as they could be worked up into genuine annotations for posting on the annotated games file. But at the moment at any rate, successive notes overwrite the previous.
